Approach to the study of the origins and the former owners of the Historical Library of the University of Valencia (1785-1837).

Abstract

The Historical Library of the University of Valencia was created at the end of the 18th century from the donation of Francisco Pérez Bayer. This paper succinctly addresses the different ways of entering books in the first years of the library's life, from its foundation to 1837. The three main processes were acquisitions, donations or bequests and the case of books from disentailed convents.
