EXPOBUS, UN NUEVO ESPACIO VIRTUAL DE EXPOSICIONES DE LA BIBLIOTECA DE LA UNIVERSIDAD DE SEVILLA

Resumen

En esta comunicación se presenta, por una parte, ExpoBUS, el nuevo espacio virtual de exposiciones de la Biblioteca de la Universidad de Sevilla (BUS), y, por otra, el desarrollo de una serie de funcionalidades para la mejora del programa de exposiciones Omeka.

ExpoBUS nace con la vocación de ir más allá de las exposiciones del patrimonio bibliográfico y documental del Fondo Antiguo de la BUS y dota a las Bibliotecas de Área de una herramienta adecuada para el desarrollo de diferentes actividades de difusión de sus fondos.

En cuanto al desarrollo de Omeka, ha consistido en la implementación de nuevas plantillas para crear, diseñar y montar exposiciones virtuales, con opciones de importación automática mediante CSV de los registros, carga de imágenes de las obras expuestas, creación y jerarquización de las diferentes salas o espacios expositivos, etc. Estos desarrollos permiten un diseño fácil y rápido de cualquier exposición. Destacar igualmente un cuidado diseño con imagen renovada e integración en el portal de la BUS o la implementación de un soporte estadístico para monitorizar la consulta de los eventos, lo que la convierte en una magnífica herramienta de difusión.

This communication presents, on the one hand, ExpoBUS, the new virtual exhibition space of the Library of the University of Seville, and on the other, the development of a series of functionalities for the improvement of the Omeka exhibitions program.

ExpoBUS is born with the vocation to go beyond the exhibitions of the bibliographic and documentary heritage of the Old Collection of the BUS and gives the Branch Libraries a suitable tool for the development of different activities of dissemination of their collections.

As for Omeka's development, it has consisted in the implementation of new templates to create, design and assemble virtual expositions, with options for automatic import through CSV of the registers, loading of images of exhibed works, creation and hierarchy of the different exhibition spaces, etc. These developments allow an easy and quick design of any exhibition. Also emphasize a careful design with renewed image and integration in the portal of the Library or the implementation of a statistical support to monitor the consultation of the events, which makes it a great tool of dissemination.
