An out-of-control insect infestation can cause massive damage to a collection. Within a conservation program, this risk must be considered as yet another to be evaluated, take measures for its prevention and, ultimately, act with eradication methods if the situation requires it. Integrated Pest Management -IPM-, applied for the first time in organic farming to reduce the use of pesticides, is the fundamental tool for managing this deterioration factor. In the case of the BHI of the UCM, we have not had the need to adopt solutions for a plague, but we can share experiences of the control that we carry out.
