The map library of Universitat de València. 20 years of cartographic heritage management

Abstract

The Map Library of the Universitat de València manages since 2002 a very important part of the cartographic heritage of this university.
Starting from the criteria of antiquity, rarity and cultural value, its main collections are described. Subsequently, actions towards its conservation and promotion are detailed.
The Map Library has been a useful tool for identifiying and highlighting the value of the cartographic heritage of Universitat de València, far richer and varied tan it was expected.
