The role of the courier during temporary exhibitions. The procedure of the Historical Library of the UCM

Abstract

Lending of books and documents between entities or institutions is becoming more frequent. At the same time as an opportunity for the divulgation of the documentary collections, it implies a need for management and the establishment of controls for the conservation of the works. The figure of the courier plays a fundamental role in this task. In the Historical Library of the Universidad Complutense, this work is carried out following a procedure that allows it to be adapted to the different needs of the lending and the documentary typology.

This communication aims to expose this procedure and share some resources that may be useful to carry out the work of a courier and promote the preservation of documents during its exhibition.
