Abstract

In this study, we focus on analysing and highlighting the artistic bindings of the collection of Joaquín Sánchez de Toca, whose generous donation enriched the funds of the Royal Academy of Moral and Political Sciences. 65 bindings were selected from his collection, included in a doctoral thesis, ranging from the 16th to the 20th century. The diversity of artistically bound copies is highlighted, and prominent bookbinders and illustrators are identified, such as the Sancha workshop, among others.
