Digitization at the CRAI of the UB. Workflow The specific case of factitious volumes and miscellaneous manuscripts

Abstract

Digitization process at the CRAI of the University of Barcelona has been consolidated since the creation of the Digitization Centre in 2013. The gateway for the heritage of the CRAI of the UB is BiPaDi (Biblioteca Patrimonial Digital), which uses the ContentDM programme, and is organized into thematic collections. In the digitization workflow, all the agents involved in the process are specified: the library owner of the volumes, the Restoration Workshop, the Digitization Centre and the Technical Processing Service of the CRAI. The responsibilities of each one are well defined. The sammelband printed volumes as well manuscript volumes made up of different parts require specific treatments at both catalog and digital levels.
