The Municipal Archive of Villamalea

Abstract

A municipal archive is an organic set of documents generated in a natural way by a given town council in the exercise of its activities throughout its history, and at the same time, the local institution in charge of conserving, organising and disseminating this documentation. This article focuses on the Municipal Archive of Villamalea, in the province of Albacete, giving an overview of this public service, its current and past situation, organisation, operation and the documentation in its custody.
