The workshop of bookbinder Tomás Cobo and his successors and the management of his orders at the Royal Academy of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences (1859-1905)

Abstract

The present work tries to analyze the relationship between the workshop of Tomás Cobo, his widow and his nephew Luis Obispo, from 1859 to 1905, with the the Royal Academy of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences, studying the management of the orders that were produced, knowing the type of bindings that were ordered, the number of volumes, the type of works (monographs, magazines, internal publications of the Academy itself...), the prices, the different workshops... Tomás Cobo worked for the Academy between 1859 and 1869, his widow between 1869 and 1884 and his nephew Luis Obispo between 1884 and 1905, the last date for which we have documentation at the Academy
