The Photographic Collections from the Historical Archive of the Universitat de les Illes Balears A Window to the Past

Abstract

In this article we present four photographic collections located in the Historical Archive of the Universitat de les Illes Balears. Three of them date from the first half of the 20th century and are based on glass plates and are an interesting example of the beginnings of photography on the island of Mallorca. In addition, they are fully digitized and accessible. The fourth one is a large display of nature photography from the turn of the millennium, mounted on slides that are in the process of being digitalized. They are, therefore, four funds of great wealth at the service of the scientific community and society in general.
