Abstract
The General Archive of the Carlos III University of Madrid preserves, processes and disseminates several personal archives given in donation to the University. The Juan Pascual Sanahuja Archive of Maritime Law stands out for its uniqueness. It´s contains 80 files about expertise ships breakdown books of Spanish steamboats since 1936 to 1958.
